Community Moderation Executive

With headquarters in London, spaces in LA and New York, we have a team of more than 100 people dedicated to enhancing and developing the Depop experience for our global communities. And we’re just getting started.

Right now, we’re on the hunt for a Community Moderation Lead as a valuable member of the Moderation team, to successfully make the Depop app one of the safest places in social media. In this role you will be responsible for using data and insights to ensure we are maximising our team efforts. You will have a strong interest in improving our processes and educating our users on issues related to infringements of Depop rules, fraud and counterfeits.

  • Create and monitor process to ensure the team is working to a high standard
  • Investigate user accounts and gather relevant information from different sources to prevent fraudulent activities and/or infringements to our Terms
  • Communicate with our users in a friendly yet confident manner where need be
  • Proactively keep up-to-date with anti-fraud and anti-counterfeiting knowledge and trends


  • You are have experience in dealing with bad actors / fraud / counterfeit items.
  • Passionate about fighting fraud and have keen interests in topics such as anti-fraud and anti-counterfeiting
  • Enjoy gathering evidence and connecting the dots to build a full picture
  • Good attention to data and ensuring the team is on track with daily expectations
  • You are able to follow established processes and are not afraid of suggesting improvements where needed
  • Additional language skills, particularly Italian
  • Experience with anti-fraud and/or anti-counterfeiting
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Some understanding of intellectual property law
