Depop is the shopping community where the world’s creatives come to buy, sell, discover and explore the most inspiring and unique items. Together our team is building the world's most social shopping platform, connecting creative communities around the world.

Our HQ is based in London and we have spaces in Milan, NYC and LA. As our community continues to grow, we’re on the hunt for a Copywriter to join our Studio team. You will be working across business function, from in-app copy to marketing comms, to ensure brand consistency.


Responsibilities

  • Partners with our in-house Art Director to develop and own creative ideas from conception to production that will both excite internal stakeholders and engage our community as well as prospects.
  • Work with Art Director to develop creative decks & pitches.
  • Help develop and refine our tone of voice guidelines to empower other business units.
  • Provide copy all way through the consumer experience: from advertising, in-app to CRM efforts.
  • Write powerful taglines and titles that will engage our users as well as external audiences.
  • Contribute to editorial efforts led by the Content team.
  • Oversee proofreading procedures and edit copy when necessary.
  • Assist in evaluating finalised copy for compliance with policies, style and tone.
  • Writing and or/overseeing the text for our communications across FAQ’s and community support macros.
  • Working with in-house content producers on written content, including imagery and video.
  • Support on PR initiatives to draft press releases.
  • Create magic that will dazzle us even if we didn’t ask for it.

Requirements

  • Significant experience as a copywriter or equivalent in a fashion, brand or creative environment, agency experience a plus.
  • Exceptional ability in copywriting and editing, especially in short copy.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Outstanding communication and people abilities to communicate across teams.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience working across multiple communications channels/media and how to adapt copy to them.
  • Conceptual thinking.
  • The ability to cope with managing multiple projects/campaigns in a fast moving environment with varying workloads and pressures.
  • A strong understanding of international markets is a plus.
  • Comfortable pitching work.
