Senior People Partner

With headquarters in London, spaces in LA and New York, we have a team of more than 125 people dedicated to enhancing and developing the Depop experience for our global communities. Our People team are incredibly important to the Depop mission, as our actions impact every single person in the business, and we need to curate an incredible experience for them. The Senior People Partner / Manager will have a dual focus, the first will be to support our 20+ line managers on people issues and strategies, coaching and developing them to improve how they support, grow, and ensure their teams have impact on the business.

The second focus will be designing and delivering HR products, processes and experiences that engage our people, and deliver results for the business. From re-imagining performance management and recognition, to launching tactical L&D initiatives and development structures for teams to draw upon, you will seriously impact our employee experience, helping every single one of our employees be happier and more successful.

You are likely a seasoned professional who is at the top of the standard HR game, but you want the opportunity to turn that game on it’s head at a creative and passionate company that truly cares about the employee experience, and is on an impressive scaling journey.


  • Business partner to all line managers, supporting on decision making, delivering values centric and commercially aligned HR advice and strategies in line with HR best practice.
  • Coaching and developing all line managers on how to better lead, develop and help our people deliver their best work, whilst ensuring a great employee experience.
  • Design and deliver innovative and impactful HR products and programmes across performance management, recognition and org. effectiveness (e.g. role structure).
  • Develop an initial L&D offering, identifying skills gaps and building training in collaboration with SME’s to improve effectiveness and the growth of our people.
  • Managing ER cases and advising on change, running supportive but safe processes when things go wrong, and effectively balancing business and individual needs.
  • Create involved people practices, processes and policies which drive the success of the business, support employee engagement and create an amazing culture.
  • Support our People Coordinator in the smooth running of HR Ops across the full employee lifecycle (e.g. on-boarding, HRMS management, payroll and change).
  • Reporting to the Director of People, you will work closely together to continuously improve existing processes and experiences across the entire People function.


  • Strong HR Ops background, with extensive technical, ER and policy development knowledge (CIPD, or equivalent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice).
  • Expert and results oriented BP able to handle all personality types and proactively deliver innovative and pragmatic HR solutions, with experience of change management.
  • Excellent relationship builder and communicator, you tailor your messages, enthuse your audience, make the complex simple, and are a valued mentor and confidant.
  • Solutions focused, you always spot opportunities to simplify and improve processes and drive results through your own efforts and by galvanising others.
  • Excellent eye for detail and highly organised, with strong follow-up skills (you’re a completer finisher) and strong ability to prioritise in a very busy environment.
  • You have IQ, EQ and maturity in abundance, you support with discretion, sensitivity and intelligence, are highly trustworthy and have an innate sense of fairness.
  • Experience in L&D, and if you've not facilitated training before you will need to be a passionate educator, meticulous communicator and talent incubator.
  • You bring refreshing and positive energy, even when times are tough, you’re a flexible team player, you’re non-political and an incessant champion of the people you support.
  • Ideally a mix of experience in larger environments (e.g. corporate / consulting) and high-growth environments, potentially in the tech scene. International is a plus.
  • You preferably have an interest in community businesses and are passionate about fashion or creativity.
