Community Manager (US Ambassador Program)

Based in New York, we’re looking for a Community Manager to help us on our mission to grow Depop's US student community under our newly launched University Ambassador Program.

This role would suit a huge Depop fan and an avid user, ideally with an in depth knowledge of the US student market. You are a strong and persuasive communicator who understands the power of education-based communities and their potential impact on business growth. You value community development and are enthused by the prospect of growing Depop’s even further via key and culturally relevant student networks. If this is you, then we’d love to hear from you!


  • Own the entire Depop Student Ambassador Program throughout the US
  • Ensuring the Program is impactful; analysing it’s impact on the Depop business
  • Embrace improvement to the Program and drive best-practice throughout
  • Oversee the end-to-end operations of team management and communications
  • Onboard, train and manage well connected sellers from Depop’s student Community - converting them from passionate Depop Sellers to dedicated Brand Ambassadors
  • Ensure delivery and completion of Ambassador tasks as defined by Depop
  • Represent a key area of Depop’s growth with the view to building an internal team
  • Lead the US student community’s social calendar: organising events, onboarding days, training sessions and team-building activities aligned with key academic dates
  • Arm Ambassadors with the tools they need to build their own Depop network
  • Lead the implementation of future student-focused ideas - delivering key insights and working with Depop HQ to develop these


  • You understand the Depop app and why our community is so unique
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the US student market
  • Ideally you have strong experience in student/brand ambassador focused project management or initiatives (but not essential)
  • You balance key analytical work with a passion for hands-on team interaction
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
  • Confident in your approach to new initiatives
  • Creative and unafraid to present new ideas
  • Able to work both on projects both independently and as part of a large team
  • Possess excellent communication skills
