Depop is the shopping community where the world’s creatives come to buy, sell, discover and explore the most inspiring and unique items. We’re on a mission to build our platform into one of the most vibrant, inspiring and creative communities in the world.

Our HQ is based in London and we have spaces in Milan, NYC and LA. As our community continues to grow, we’re on the hunt for a strong MD for the US to lead our dedicated local teams and help us succeed in the US. With an entrepreneurial mind and people focus, the MD will grow both our seller and buyer sides of the marketplace, strengthen our brand presence in the US, create new growth opportunities for Depop, and support our unique and creative community.

We have recently raised Series B of $20M and are positioned for strong global growth, with razor sharp focus on expanding our already solid foundations in the US market. We are very excited about our new physical space in Los Angeles (Silver Lake) and soon-to-be open space in New York (Soho).


  • Defines and delivers on Depop’s US growth strategy in line with Depop’s global strategy to accelerate our strong growth (currently 10% m-o-m)
  • Leads local teams across multiple disciplines responsible for growing buyer and seller side of the market in the US (located in NYC, LA)
  • Identifies, tests and executes on new scalable growth initiatives across different channels online and offline, on hyperlocal and national level
  • Owns US performance, monitors and analyses key success metrics and implements initiatives to improve them, in constant contact with global teams
  • Secures prime brand/creative collaborations to strengthen Depop’s brand awareness
  • Identifies and helps prioritize core localised Product and Support requirements
  • Makes Depop US an attractive place to work to bring the best possible talent
  • Creates a solid network of relevant contacts for Depop in the US
  • Represents and promotes Depop in the US market


  • Significant experience in growing a US business and managing teams, ideally fashion tech or consumer tech
  • Entrepreneurial background and/or startup experience a strong preference
  • Strong and demonstrable understanding of social media / social shopping and marketplace dynamics
  • Strong managerial skills and leadership abilities a must
  • Commercial and analytical mindset with strong bias to action
  • Interest in fashion, music, design or general culture
  • Understanding of community driven businesses
  • Willingness to travel monthly across the US (LA and other cities as required) and quarterly to Europe.
