I Remember America by Eric Sloane softcover in good used condition "Eric Sloane reflects on the American landscape and the traditional way of life that shaped his understanding of the country’s past. Combining autobiographical recollections with reproductions of his artwork, Sloane recalls a time of rural communities, historic homes, traditional crafts, and a closer relationship between people and their surroundings. The book features 37 oil paintings depicting American landscapes, villages, and buildings, accompanied by reflections on the cultural and environmental changes that have transformed them. Sloane expresses concern about the loss of historic character and the disappearance of familiar landscapes, presenting the work as both a personal memoir and a tribute to America’s vanishing heritage." #art #history #vintage #book #classic
