Antique Vernon semi-automatic push-button pocket lighter, patented May 1912 and made by the Mount Vernon Specialty Co. Its connecting-rod mechanism works much like classic Thorens single-claw movements: press the front button and the spring-loaded hood snaps back to turn the flint wheel. Uncommon to find, and rarer still complete and working. Condition: Mechanical: Fully functional. Button triggers firmly, lid snaps back strongly, wheel turns freely with a bright spark. Cosmetic: Vintage patina for its ~114 years. Visible surface scratches and minor pitting on the finish (see photos). No structural cracks or major dents. Completeness: Complete and original. Shipped drained per postal regulations; needs your own fuel and wick packing. See photos for condition. Shipping: Securely packed with tracking. International buyers welcome through eBay's International Shipping Program.
