This original 1913 Memory Book from Joliet Township High School in Joliet, Illinois includes class portraits, student organizations, athletics, local advertisements, humor, and numerous handwritten student signatures. Also included are portraits of Superintendent J. Stanley Brown and educator Chauncey E. Spicer, two influential figures who helped shape Joliet's educational system and the early development of Joliet Junior College, widely recognized as America's first public community college. Pencil signatures appear beneath both portraits but have not been authenticated. The book is in fair vintage condition with heavy cover wear, rubbing, spine wear, staining, page tears, and age discoloration. The interior appears complete despite the condition issues.
