An Aristo Multilog slide rule with its original card sleeve and printed box. The rule is marked ARISTO with the model designation, and the box carries the Aristo name and Multilog in red. The cursor is the part worth looking at. It is a clear frame carrying a hairline that has to sit close enough to the scales to avoid parallax error but never touch them, and it has to hold that gap while sliding thousands of times. Everything else on a slide rule is printing; the cursor is the only piece of real precision engineering on it. Aristo rules were made by Dennert and Pape in Hamburg and the Multilog was their multi scale engineering model. The scales here are sharp with no rubbing, which matters more than cosmetic condition because a worn scale makes the instrument useless. The slide still runs the full length without binding, which is the other thing that fails on stored examples. Complete with the box, which is uncommon. Condition: No cracks or warping found.
