Psychedelic Tapestry or Bedspread - Indigenous Artist from Peru I purchased this tapestry on a trip to Iquitos, Peru. It is handmade by the indigenous people of the Amazon jungle area around Iquitos. It depicts visions that one sees during A_Y_A ceremonies. The colorful flower in the center is the what a cross section of the vine looks like when cut. including jaguar spirit, anaconda which represents the spirit of the Aya vine. The black geometric markings are also part of the visionary landscape. This is hand dyed and embroidered. The are inconsistencies in the dye saturation but it's part of the overall look.
