Vintage 70s Chessa Davis patchwork bohemian peasant skirt. Chessa Davis was a popular actress and began an accidental design career when she made herself a skirt based on old peddler skirts to wear to a party. A Beverly Hills shop owner ordered 6 on the spot & they sold out immediately. In the early 70s these Peddler’s Cloak skirts became wildly popular among the bohemians & artists. Quoting Chessa: “they are romantic, feminine, comfortable, yet not a costume. And they make a woman look & feel young”. Some of her customers were Princess Grace, Dinah Shore, Mary Tyler Moore & Betty Ford. Waist 30" (unstretched) x 41" long. | Model is 5'8" and measures 32” bust x 28” waist x 39” hips for reference. >< Very good vintage condition; there are a few light areas of discoloration here and there but they're tough to spot and really blend in! >< Ships quickly and carefully from a smoke-free, cat-friendly home. 220120-15 #patchwork #hippie #70s #peasantskirt #festival
