The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse down jacket. MENS MEDIUM First introduced in 1992 as part of a high-alpine climbing system, the Nuptse jacket was named after a mountain peak in Nepal. It became iconic for its boxy silhouette, oversized baffles, and 700-fill goose down insulation, which provides excellent warmth while remaining lightweight. The "700" on the sleeve refers to the fill power of the down, a measure of its fluffiness and ability to trap air for insulation. The jacket also features a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish and a stowable hood in the collar.
