They are the top farm club of the Pittsburgh Pirates and play in the International League (West Division). Home games are at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis. The franchise dates to 1902 and is one of the oldest continuously operating minor-league clubs in the country.  The name predates the former Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) and has been kept; the team has a partnership with the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana. Their mascot is Rowdie the Bear.
